Rose Mary's Anthology: Where Herstories Bloom is a curated collection of books celebrating women’s stories, experiences and achievements. Inspired by Rose Mary Crawshay’s legacy of libraries, learning and access to knowledge, the collection complements the physical Herstories installation designed to travel across Merthyr Libraries. The reading collection allows visitors to explore the themes of the installation further, discovering new perspectives and stories and creating a growing anthology where women’s voices can continue to bloom.
Welsh Witches is an illustrated and categorised guide to the witches of Wales. Drawing on her extensive research, Efa Lois gathers witches from Welsh folklore, history and popular and contemporary culture and brings their stories vividly to life with her vibrant illustrations. Professional folklorist Juliette Wood explores the context around the history of witches in Wales, common themes in their stories, and what this tells us about Welsh women and attitudes towards them through time.
Available in Merthyr Central Library.
